- A collective encounter with death was a different experience—an anticipation of confrontation, of standing face to face with pain and hope—embodied in a vast presence of the “Mother”: delicate, chaotic, with feet sunk deep in loss.
This collection is entrusted to the imagination of “mothers who
have lost a child.”
It is an act of empathy—sharing both personal and collective grief as it flows through the fabric of past, present, and future society.
In honor of time, and in response to the repetitive, daily embodiment of this maternal experience of loss and mourning, all the small pieces in this collection are hand-carved without molds.
