Middle
In Middle, I see the outside world through a small, confined space: a garden. Its elements, the human body, and the threats around them occupy the same field, each encountering the world beyond it in a different way.
The bird and the body belong to this same place. Within their small world, they witness the garden burning. The flowers, the fruit of its growth and life, are caught among the flames, thorns, and weeds of the very ground from which they grew.
For me, Middle means being in the midst of things, inside a situation. It is where the personal and the external, life and violence, individual and collective experience meet in a shared space.
