Ali Malek (1974, Tehran – 7 July 2026) was a self-taught multimedia artist whose practice focused on painting and sculpture. Working with a narrative approach and an openness to a broad audience, he combined close attention to detail with deliberate roughness, black humour, and inspiration from the art of the past. He sought to create works that could tell their own stories, without relying on titles or direct references.

Malek presented three solo exhibitions at Soo Contemporary: Temple of Consciousness (2024), Pigeon Post (2024–2025), and A Hero Is Not Enough; Be a Pahlavan (2025). He had prepared a further exhibition for November 2026, but died of a stroke on 7 July 2026, before it could be held.
